I wanted to get my portfolio site www.jasonmarkjones.com up and running again, but instead of throwing it together without any planning, I thought I would take my time and make it good. So in the meantime I will continue to post my design work here. Most recently, I worked with my wonderful team at JLOOP on the redesign or mcdonaldssocal.com just in time for the launch of McCafé. I was responsible for the visual and interface design.
I’m getting psyched up for some creative interior design projects with the new house. We are probably going to go big with the kitchen and bathroom and do some tiling, wallpapering and cabinet work, but there will be a lot of room for some fun DIY projects. Here are some ideas I really liked.
I used to follow the Blogotheque videos much more closely, but I had missed a bunch and was going through my neglected blog feed and just happened to check out the site when I saw they had done a Take Away Show with Delta Spirit. Wait. Make that THREE Take Away Shows…and they are great.
Happy Cinco de Mayo! however, the celebration of this day brought to mind that i failed to wish my very good friend Happy Birthday yesterday on his acclaimed “May the Fourth Be With You”.
York, this entry is for you…I hope you had a great birthday. I wish we could’ve been there to celebrate with you. We miss you and hope to see you very soon!
Gary Hustwit has another documentary coming! I really liked his film about Helvetica so I’m looking forward to this one too. His font film was right up my alley, but I’m excited to see what he brings to the screen with Objectified.

The poster by Build is pretty neat, although once you see the letters it is hard to look at the poster without it glaring back at you.
It is true. I walked out to where I had parked my car to find that it was not longer there. At first I thought I had just forgotten where I parked it, but it turns out I have not gone insane and my car was actually a victim of Grand Theft Auto. I made a couple flyers I am going to post around the neighborhood. I am confident that my car is in a million pieces by now, but if anyone has any good stories to cheer me up they are appreciated. Send them to someonestolemyhonda@gmail.com Thanks!
I’m still not sure how I feel about the whole stock brand thing that incspring is all about or even the crowdspring idea of working on a project with no guarantee of payment. Its a little too much like every project is a contest and don’t get me wrong, I love my contests, but it is a little strange to see this shift in the way design is approached. There are some really great designs on those sites, but much less intent and purpose behind them.
We are here to see collaboration take place. We believe that every problem requires a solution, every question begs an answer, every idea needs an action…every lorem has an ipsum.
